Smoother is a paint additive used to prevent silicone contamination in automotive refinishing.

Using smoother prevents silicone craters “fish eye” effect which is very un-sightly thus saving the hassle of removing all the paint and starting again when doing any repairs.

It is recommended that you use smoother in both the topcoat and lacquer if doing clear over base paint work.
